partnerships

FAS supports artists and curators in their careers through institutional partnerships to disseminate, circulate and discuss the works from the collection.

FAS is continuously supporting artists as a member of the Delfina Foundation Network of Africa Patrons and as a Friend of The Yinka Shonibare Foundation. Recently, FAS became a member of the WAF – World Arts Foundations, a network exclusively dedicated to private art foundations.

During the pandemic, we have promoted contemporary art through the creation of the Grants Program PACA (Support Program for Angolan Creation). Other initiatives over the years include punctual collaborations with La Biennale de Lubumbashi, PhotoEspaña, and Kadist.

The collection is associated with recent publications and editions such as Atlantica by Hangar Books, envisioning the expansion of the canon of Western culture and enhancing knowledge of the African visual arts.

In 2024, FAS will act as Strategic Partner for the Portuguese Pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia supporting the collective project “Greenhouse” by Mónica Miranda, Sónia Vaz Borges and Vânia Gala.

FAS has been supporting artists through the loan and donations of artworks to institutions such as TATE, Centre Pompidou, KADIST and the Gwangju Biennale.
